The Municipality of Grootfontein is busy tarring the road of Luiperdhewel. The tarring of the roads was one the council resolution and its strategic plans of local economic development. Better communication and transport facilities play an important role in developing the town. Only when, the road transport is better, will economic, social and management of the town improve. The council will also look forward to upgrade the other roads in most areas of Grootfontein including the Omulunga Location. The upgrading of these roads will only be determined by the financial implications of the council budget. The Luiperdhewel road will complete before the end of this year. The development of roads networks in the town also requires community participation and assistance from various stakeholders and business alike. Therefore the council appealed to local communities of Grootfontein to render the necessary support in the building of the roads. The improvements of better roads will also play a significant role after devolution of decentralized functions from line ministries as part of the government obligation to bring services at grassroots level.
